I’ve missed Gen Con, really missed it. I’ve been lucky enough to be a regular attendee for the last few years, and it’s become something of an addiction. I’ve met so many amazing people over the years, Gen Con has become less of a gaming con for me and more of an opportunity to hang out with friends I can only see once a year. Even with its return last year, those of us outside the US were...
This week’s article includes RPG crowdfunding projects that end between September 7th to the 15th. I look at a sampling of games including the tail end of Kickstarters’s 2022 RPG Zine Quest. As always, I encourage you to check out these campaigns as well as others that may interest your gaming table.
This week, I look at RPG crowdfunding projects ending between August 1st to 18th. This sampling includes games crowdfunding on Kickstarter and Backerkit. These are running around the Gen Con timeframe. As the San Diego Comic Con of roleplaying games, Gen Con takes up space on the calendar so it’s always interesting to see its impact on RPGs around this time.

This week I review RPG crowdfunding projects that end between December 8th and 16th. During this time of year, the number of projects becomes less predictable as many move from a month long campaign to two week quickstarters intended to run between the holidays. During December’s past, the ranks thin out some, but at this time, there’s still a healthy amount to review. I try to cover eight to...
In this article, I look at RPG crowdfunding projects ending between July 30th to August 19th. This week’s offerings include an idea fit for TV, multiple 5e products, magazines, a convention, and more.
This week I look at projects that end between May 5th and 22nd. Right now, there are six RPG products and three RPG-related projects that are funding at six figures or more. While I don’t look at all nine of them in this article, the totals demonstrate that the audience for RPGs on Kickstarter continues to grow.
Talisman the board game is great but certainly has a beer and pretzels quality that I thought would carry over to the RPG. Instead, Talisman Adventures Fantasy Roleplaying Game is a nuanced dark fairy tale set in a magical world of competing alignments, ancestries, and powers. It impresses me.
