Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

i don't really see what commanding presence or rallying surge would do for him then, but i guess that's a tangent. i personally still don't really think it qualifies, but i don't think it'd break anything if you allowed it.

Level Up (A5E) How would you rule this? Elf marshal question

i don't really interpret telepathy as seeing or hearing, more just information popping up in your brain, so i'd say no. that said, i can't think of a use case where this would be particularly useful anyway, so it feels like a slightly redundant question to me,

    D&D 5E Running Tier 3 D&D 5e

wrong. EDIT: also "improved divine smite" is a bit of a misnomer, because it's not actually part of smite. it just gives you a flat 1d8 bonus radiant damage to any melee weapon attack you make.

    D&D 5E Running Tier 3 D&D 5e

wrong - that would be 7 attacks (2 from extra attack, 2 from action surge, 1 from haste, 2 from unleash incarnation since you take 2 attack actions). for however many more turns as you have unleash incarnation it'd be 4 attacks, and then it'd be 3 until haste ends. that goes up to 8, 5, and 4...

Level Up (A5E) Elite Recovery clarification

because it's broader then that, yeah.

Level Up (A5E) Elite Recovery clarification

it says "negative effect", so yes, it would be any negative effect, not just conditions.

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

but this isn't for your part. it's for the purposes of discussion - and for the purposes of discussion, it's absolutely important to note whether something is first or third party, even if people who worked on the core books worked on said third party product, because of the status that being...

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

i mean, i won't dispute that. whether it is or not isn't particularly relevant. it's not helpful to bring up third party content when discussing first party content, because it isn't first party content. it was also kind of strange because...well, bringing up third party content wasn't even...

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

well, we were discussing balance. not so helpful to bring up third party content when discussing the balance of first party (well, for level up anyway) content.

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

why are you even grabbing third party content for your example? tyrannized -> scars gives you a resistance too, and that's in the AG alongside the dragonborn.

How to balance a master-and-apprentice dynamic?

a5e has some rules for characters leaving retirement. you could, theoretically, make the master the same approximate power level as the apprentice and then use rules in that sort of vein to represent the additional experience of the master.

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

tl;dr: the bandwagon fallacy is a FALLACY for a reason

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

i mean...you want to supplement 5e, not replace it, right? replacing most of the character options seems to go against that goal to me.

    MichaelSomething's 4E Comeback special

well. i think that's a sentence that's never been spoken before.

D&D 5E Advanced D&D or "what to minimally fix in 5E?"

the subclass/prestige class change alone would require rewriting all the subclasses at minimum, and most likely the base classes as well. removing absolute abilities would require a similar overhaul.

D&D 5E Which classes have the least identity?

the banneret's features (aside from at level 7) hinge off of the fighter's base class features. you thus cannot use those banneret features if you use your class resources normally - you instead need to wait until you can trigger the riders to make use of those features. this concern exists for...
