I'd personally get annoyed if its not out somewhere in 2025. But that is more because I want them to keep to their word, than I care anything about 3e.
I think right now we're at a point where one more class would have more overlap than we already have. I'd say somewhere between 8 and 12.
To me the most important thing is that when players get together to make characters for session 0, they still feel like they have a good amount of options...
I left it because of DM burnout and being in a bad mental state.
I came back because things got better and I learned how to DM without getting stressed.
Let’s be fair: character options don’t all have to be the optimal choice in combat. Some are there to make players get features that help them bring their character to life.
And whatever WotC will do, optimizers will only recommend a handful. That’s what optimizers do.
If they give rebalancing feats a shot, those 75 might all become options, which is better than what we had.
To optimizers it will never be enough, but they only use 10-15 anyway. And if more feats are released? The optimization will incorporate a few.
75 is more than enough to take a feat...
