D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

The response I got was that "we don't need new ideas", "refluff old ideas", and "new education practices that guide people into creating their own material is a waste of book space". It's not just a Plane of Dinosaurs. It's a Plane of Prehistoric Power. The beasts are big and stupid. The people...

D&D 5E What Do You Not Like About The 2014 5E DMG?

It's heavily geared to experienced DMs. The little advice and help to new DMs are so poorly organized and referenced that a new DMs' eyes will glaze over in confusion if they search for it An experienced DM can sticky note what they know they might need. A new DM...

D&D General Which Edition Had The Best Dragons?

Still better than other editions The bad math 4e dragons were still better fights than other dragons. Only beat by good math 4e dragons.

D&D 5E Should Explicit Monster Roles Return?

I feel this is where lair actions and variant rules come in. A werewolf is a normal brute. A werewolf alpha has access to the Rage of the Moon and Terrifying Howl which let's them take down a whole party.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

It's not about complexity is about the flexibility of the spell casting system. Spell casting system is Is written in a way that if you allow them to create magic items using spell slots the amount of spell slots a caster has will break the system in half. "Oh it's simple" until you attempt...

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

Secondary subsystems exist when the primary subsystem doesn't provide the fantasy. For example infusions allow for characters to have magic items as a class resource. This is impossible as a spell. So an infusion class would have to be created to make an item based character.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

The Warlord and Psionicist can be combined with the fighter and the wizard if designed for it. The issue is that typically there is outside factors that keep these classes from being broad enough.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

There Is a section of the fan base who believes that you can just re fluff everything. Of course they usually want to as specialties to match the refluff. That's how you get 300 specializations or feats.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

Nah The AHC has the same core mechanic that the Duskblade (3e) and Swordmage (4e) has before it: Strikes with magicky effects before or after the hit. The problem.is WOTC does not create new classes anymore

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

I consider teaching worldbuilding and worldbuilding advice as different things. I said that before. But I already gave up on explaining it.

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

I didn't say there was no world building advice. I said it was bad advice for new DMs and tailored heavily to experienced DM. Especially for younger DMs who flooded 5e and have 5e as their first edition. The poor organization is due to them putting no priority on the DMG because the emphasis...
