Over in the new cover for the DMG thread a lot of people are dismayed the the revealed covers for the new Core 3 seem to lean into nostalgia. Having new art of the famous iconic of 1st ed. Strongheart, Venger, etc. The interior art going all in as well. Not to mention those darn meddling...

The whole covers things is first ed. And the cartoon came out during.... 1st ed. This is the 50th Anniversary of the game so they are making call backs to... (wait for it)..... 1st ed.

So many posts that are basically: “I can’t believe the 50th anniversary edition is using characters from the beginning of the game in the 50th anniversary edition meant to celebrate the beginning of the game. I’m so mad!” God forbid WotC use the 50th anniversary edition covers to celebrate...
